Caribbean Literature

This semester long course offers a panoramic overview of talented Caribbean writers. Students will read and critique the Spanish-Caribbean literature of the 20th century. Through assigned readings, students will identify some of the most important writers of the region through genres from narratives to poetry. Through a diverse selection of noteworthy texts, students will be able to recognize and discover the motifs, historical context, and literary significance of a variety of works.
