The IERC has established an alliance between businesses in the U.S., international businesses in the Dominican Republic, and a consortium of U.S. Universities. This collaboration effort between sectors, serves to facilitate studying abroad and also represents an enormous opportunity for different nations to get involved.
The responsibilities of the IERC is to coordinate the courses that we offer with those of the sponsoring institutions, of which have total responsibility of academic policies, development of curriculum, eligibility requirements and majors.
Cooperative and educative internships and cooperative educational assignments abroad, enable the students to gain practical experience which is related to their academic and professional interests and can be applied as academic credit towards their majors.
Multinational corporations based in the U.S., which have subsidiaries in the R.D., have agreed to participate as university advisors to assure that the experiences offered by the internship programs in their international branches will provide experiences the students can use in the labor market; enabling them to prepare for the international workplace.
The African-American Information Center (known by its Spanish acronym CIAM) was founded in the Dominican Republic as a private, non-profit global institution pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of Executive Decree 128-99 of March 30th 1999.

Compiles, manages, translates, research and publish materials on the African experience in the Americas.
The center identifies, trains and strengthens individuals and groups on the development of sustainable institutional mechanisms that can enhance the political participation, social prestige and economic mobility of persons of African descent.
