Welcome to the IERC website!!

The International Education Resource Center, IERC, is a Santo Domingo-based program development facility established to help U.S. institutions of higher education develop and sponsor programs and internships for their students in the Dominican Republic.

The IERC, through academic study, practical experience and cultural immersion, we prepare college students, professionals and professors to become more globally competitive in the respect that they develop themselves, experiencing different activities as they are in the real world:

•  Equipping faculty and students with an understanding of foreign languages and cultures to enable them to become integrally involved in global issues;

•  Enabling students and faculty to make better use of university resources to maximize the impact of the university’s diverse programs and services;

•  Facilitating study abroad opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and universities who will become the international professionals and scholars of the future;

•  Enhancing institutional capacity and increasing the number of faculty well versed in foreign affairs; and

•  Fostering new partnerships to meet the growing need for international education, research and educational services;

We oversee three instructional components to U.S. scholars and college students wishing to study abroad in the Dominican Republic; through the academic component, internship component and faculty development and inter-institutional cooperation. As the globalization wave sweeps the world, it is imperative that today’s students prepare themselves to be internationally savvy. IERC recognizes the need and accepts the challenge.
